Through My Eyes
In the short story “A Well Lighted Place” the young waiter
is being exceedingly cruel to the old man who is deaf. The old man may be able
to speak but he doesn't know what the other man is saying. The old man is very
alone has nobody to really look after him except for his niece and he has almost
committed suicide but his niece caught him in the act. The man likes the “Well
Lighted Place”, because it is very well lighted and peaceful were the old man
likes to be.
In the book “A Well Lighted Place” is mainly from 3rd
person point of view what happened if we were to talk about it from the old
man’s point of view and talk about the two waiters in the next paragraph. The
old man may be hurt from how the young waiters is treating him and how he gets
treated at the place. The old man is not a happy person but he may enjoy life
and he could also be very unhappy with the young man and how he treats him.
The two waiters have very different point of views of how
they could have handled it. The young waiter is being very cruel to him because
he came in very late rate before they were going to close up. The young waiter
has a wife home and want to get home to his wife to sleep but he is a very
cocky young man along with that. There
is also a middle age waiter who doesn't have much a life but still enjoys
everything, he also is very nice to everybody not a cocky guy.
